Within the last few days, I've had a lot of friends on Twitter say they enjoyed the movie, so I had high hopes. However, there's always gonna be negative comments as well. And I've heard a few. But despite that, I went to see it.
And what did I think?
Well... To put it simply, I thought the action and the plot (namely the look into the past of the Cybertronians) was really awesome. However... I will say this; If you're expecting the human material to be better than the first, don't get your hopes up. It's just kind of trying to get the job done, and I didn't think it FAILED at it, but it wasn't all that interesting to me as a whole.
But overall, I really enjoyed what went on. However, I do want to address some things I've heard.
For one, the twins. Yes, we know it. They're gangster stereotypes. And I know not everyone can enjoy that. But calling them the most offensive and racist characters in movie history is just a BIT too much, y'know? I think the point of them was to be literal and obvious joke characters, but people seem to take them as normal ones, and thus label them as stereotypes. Just get a sense of humor, 'kay?
There's a couple other things people are angry about, but I've posted them over on LiveJournal; [link]
Anyway, great film. Hope to see the sequel in 2012 or whenever it shall take place. There WILL be a third one, no mistake there!
Devious Comments
Some don't like the movie? Sure, it's okay they didn't find the film matching their own tastes or standards. Some loved the movie? Good for them, then. At least they were able to enjoy watching the Cybertronians get more screentime and dialogue than they had at the first movie, not to mention those explosive and adrenaline pumping fight scenes that could make make an over eager sparkling spring a leak in excitement.
Be it to hate and criticize, or to love and praise ROTF...That's freedom for everybody. "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" as Optimus himself would put it.
