Anyway, recently, there's been a lot of rage against him. He did a remake of "The Touch" which he hopes to pitch for use in the upcoming TF film. It's basically considered a Linkin Park-ified version of the song, being slowed down and more emotional, along with rap bits. Really, it DOES sound like a Linkin Park version. I almost thought he collabed with them or something.
Anyway, he's getting a lot of flak for this song. The music video for it he posted on YouTube had a lot of negative comments and suggestions on how to improve it, so he posted a new version... I guess he didn't understand the comments, because people said remove the rapper, and... he removed all video footage of the rapper, and only left parts with him in it. Kind of a kick in the pants there.
So, I just figured I'd explain why, despite how people somehow find it blasphemous to remake a song from the 80s, that I still like this remake. Well... To start off, I can be pretty open minded at times, so that's probably where most of my optimism comes from. Namely though, I just think the slowed down pacing of the song works for the message the song gets across.
And considering he's trying to make it work for the movie, I think he would need to make it a little less "80s rock" and more emotional. Granted, I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to stand up for the guy - I know he may be seen as "shady" since he's apparently hiding negative comments now, but I just think the concept he was going with was more because of its importance to fans rather than just being an ignoble attempt to get back into the music scene.
Although, I could be completely wrong, and the popular opinion of Stan Bush is a man who's trying to become popular again by leeching off the new movie's popularity could be completely true. I dunno, just wanted to get it out there that I'm not quite as hateful toward this song remake. But I do think everyone would like it more without the rap.
That is all?
